Egg Premieres April 4th!
Saturday, April 4th at 8pm PST, "Egg" screens as part of the AI Music Video Show's Easter Spectacular Takeover - a lineup of AI filmmakers curated and hosted by Brian James Gage, who's also premiering Part I of his new film "The Yellow Knight."
Brian makes hour-long films that have no business being as good as they are and he wanted other filmmakers alongside him. I said yes immediately. When he replied to my trailer with "can't wait to see this, love your work," I felt the same thing I feel every time I watch what he's doing. AI filmmakers are a small group of creatives building something real, one project at a time, and the people in it actually care about each other's work. It's good to see.
"Egg" is four minutes long. Three needle-felted meerkats find something glowing in the dirt. What happens next is an Easter story, just not one you're expecting. It's a story about what it feels like when something enters your life that you can't explain, that comes and goes on its own terms, leaving you different than how it found you.
The film is warm, handmade, with something heavier hiding underneath. If you've seen Golden Foster or Shelf Life, you know the street. "Egg" knocks on a different door.
The Easter Spectacular Takeover also features work from Franco Lli, Full Rupture, and others. It streams Saturday, April 4th at 8pm PST on the AI Music Video Show — available on Apple TV and Roku via Alchemy Stream, and online at musicvideochannel.ai.
I don't have an exact time slot for Egg but the lineup runs through the evening. Show up early, 7pm-ish PST. Stay for Brian's premiere. Stay for all of it. It's going to be a good night.
